This project was created as a part of a semester long independent study in collaboration with a peer. During the development of this project I learned a lot, on the more pratical side we got very familar with the need to delgate work between us very quickly, creatively this was one of my first times being left to my own devices with Adobe software and being free to explore my own interests within digital (and analog) media.

The divison of work firstly between the two of us, and secondly as a schedule for us to follow through the entire duration of the semester was one of the most important parts of this project. We started by indentifying the main theme of the project:
“This zine was made in reverence for the Indigenous Knowledge,         which desires to be known. May this work inspire you to gain           deeper understanding of connection to the medicinal nature of           things.”
From here we took stock of what we needed to accomplish this goal, together we did reserach on different kinds of herbs and what they were used for in Indigenous cultures, chose which ones to highlight and created a map of the zine from there. We also thought a lot about what design elements to include - typography, analog photographs, illustrations, text, and collages - were used to convey our message. My contributions included:
       - Analog Photography
       - Typography
       - Collaging
       - Printing and Binding

Hi! My name is Annie Dedas - I’m a creative technologist from Louisville, Kentucky. My passions include 3D Asset Creation, Digital Environments, Motion Graphics, and using Analog Techniques alongside digital ones.
I recently graduted from New York University’s Integrated Design and Media program with a minor in sustainable urban environments. Coming from a rural/suburban landscape and moving to extremely urban NYC is reflected in my work, being hyperaware of the environment it was created in. I love creating digital environments and assests with a defined style and details, to fully absorb the player or audience into the atmosphere.
Practically, I’m well-versed in many design softwares. From Figma to Adobe and Maya to Blender I am an quick learner and can apply my skills to many different pipelines on the spot, I am an easy collaborator, and a jack of all trades in the digital media industry.
